    Description: The meetings will be held every 2nd Friday at 8:30 PM during the summer (7:30 PM in the winter). However that may change to a later time during the summer months. Members will meet either on the hill across from the Manor House to observe the night sky, or in the Carriage House Nature Center depending on weather conditions.

  11. Beginning Nature Journaling

    Description: This is the first in a series of programs designed to teach how to connect with nature through journaling.   12. Birdseed Sale

    Date: Saturday, October 25

    Description: Stock up on quality bird seed for the winter. All proceeds go to the Quail Hollow Volunteer Association to fund special projects at the park. The truck will be parked in front of the Quail’s Nest Gift Shop.

  13. Camera Club

  17. Christmas At the Hollow

    Date: December 11-14, 2008
    Time: Thursday - Saturday 6 - 9 PM; Sunday 2 - 5 PM
    Description: This annual event is held at the former H.B. Stewart home (park visitor center) and surrounding grounds. Along with a self-guided tour through the decorated 40 room manor house, you can visit with Santa, enjoy live entertainment, cookies and wassail. Make an ornament out of natural materials. Bundle up and take a wagon ride and visit the warming fire. Watch a wood carving demonstration on Thursday and an ice carving demonstration on Saturday. Shop at the Quail's Nest Gift Shop, stocked with new holiday gift items. NO REGISTRATION NEEDED. All parking is at the park. This event is free of charge but donations are welcome. Plan on arriving an hour before closing time.

  18. Craft and Herb Fair

    Date: May 3rd and 4th 2008
    Time: Sat: 10AM to 5PM, Sun: 11AM to 5PM
    Description: Artisans specializing in various crafts will be set up on all three floors of the historic Stewart Manor House on the Quail Hollow grounds. Displays also will be established on the rolling, scenic lawn surrounding the house. More than 150 varieties of culinary and decorative herbs and flowering plants will be on sale. Admission and parking are free.

  19. Cross-Country Ski Rental

    Date: Weekends and December 26-30.
    Time: 9am-4pm Saturdays, noon-4pm Sundays, noon-4pm Dec. 26-30
    Description: Ski Quail Hollow's gently rolling terrain of meadows, woods and pine forest. Rental cost is $7.00 per hour. $4.00 per hour age 6 and under. Discounts for Golden Buckeye holders, $6.00 per hour. Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate while watching birds in our Backyard Habitat Area. Sledding is also popular on the front hillside!

  20. Easter Breakfast and Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny

    Date: Saturday,March 15
    Time: 8:30 and 10:30 AM
    Description: There will be two breakfast times, @ 8:30 and 10:30am. $4 for children 10 years and under, (under 1 year is free)/ $5 for adults. The breakfast includes french toast sticks, sausage links, fruit cup and drink. Also available is danish and coffee for $2. There will also be an Easter egg hunt for the children. Bring your own camera for photos with the Easter Bunny.
    Paid reservations only. People may drop off their reservations at the Quail's Nest gift shop on Sunday afternoons or mail them to the park by March 9th. Register early, space is limited.

    Description: For children 15 years and younger, accompanied by a parent or guardian. Adults may help, but fishing is for youngsters only. Prizes will be awarded for first caught, most caught and largest. Rods and reels will be available to borrow and bait will also be provided. Personnel will be on hand to help beginners. Fish may be kept or released. No registration required.

  24. Herb Society Tea Party

    Description: Relax in the historic Quail Hollow Manor House while sampling a variety of organic herbal teas and sweet & savory delicacies. Enjoy the Herb Show exhibits, tour the herb garden and perhaps purchase a craft item or two.

  28. MS Walk

    Description: From the MS web site: "Join the National MS Society and walk to create a world free of MS at the Quail Hollow State Park on Saturday, April 26, 2008. This route offers an invigorating hike through the woods of the state park. The route is not paved - and promises to be very muddy this time of year! Please dress accordingly.   32. Night of the Frogs

    Description: This fun and informative program begins with a slide presentation in the Carriage House Nature Center so visitors can learn about the frogs and toads of our area.
